Immersion Programmes
The Centre for Language Studies organizes language immersion programmes. Students will attend language classes, participate in social activities and/go on excursions to enhance their language ability as well as to learn more of the cultural and history of the different countries.

Field Studies Module
Field Studies takes learning out of the comfortable air-conditioned lecture theatre. Lessons take place in glitzy mega malls, dilapidated red light districts, mountainous kuomintang legacies, on elephants' backs, and in other exciting locations.
Students embark on research through intense first-hand experiences and interactions, picking up and developing important life skills and relationships along the way.

Summer Programme
Students can participate in summer programmes organized by NUS or our partner universities. This is a shorter version of Student Exchange Programme whereby students are able to experience living independently and be exposed to different environments for a few weeks. Students will also be able to transfer credits for the courses read and passed.
Currently, the Southeast Asian Studies Programme offers a "Yale in NUS Summer Programme".

Joint Degrees
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences has established several Joint Degree programmes with overseas Universities, such as Australian National University and University of North Carolina.
Students will not only get to study in these oversea universities, they will also be awarded with a degree from both NUS and the partner university.

Student Exchange Programme
The FASS has an exciting overseas student exchange programme, which allows NUS students to experience an enriching semester in a different educational, social and cultural environment. We also offer a vibrant cultural experience for our foreign guests who come here for an exchange semester.
Credit transfer is given towards the fulfillment of degree requirements for approved coursework undertaken overseas under the exchange programme.
Currently, NUS has exchange programmes with several universities, for example, the Regents of the University of California, Carnegie Mellon University and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
In addition, the FASS also has Faculty-level and Departmental-level exchanges with universities that have excellent programmes like the University of Melbourne and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

NUS Overseas College
The NUS Overseas College (NOC) programme aims to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of the students. During the 1-year programme, students will intern in a technology-based start-up company and take up courses part-time in reputable universities.
