The FASS Mentorship Programme (FMP) was established to provide a link between current students and FASS alumni. Providing guidance and words of wisdom on life outside the classroom, established alumni and friends of FASS act as mentors to guide our students professionally. It is an enriching experience for both students and mentors as they share their knowledge and experiences and in the process, enhance their bonds as a part of the FASS family.
The programme is year-long starting from August to July of the following year. It will consist of:
Minimum of 4 meetings, which may take the form of email exchanges, phone chats, tea/lunch chats, or office visits
Meetings could include advice on matters relating to area of expertise, work and life outside the University, career path development, and matters relating to professional practices.
ALUMNI - For more information, please contact us at Tel: (65) 6516 5911 / 5136 or
STUDENTS – A call will be made in February each year to students going on to their graduating year.
The internship programme is meant to provide students with some work experience during the vacation periods (May and December) and give them an insight into specific career options.
A valuable and insightful experience for students to:
enhance learning by relating academic theory to practice;
gain a broader perspective, knowledge and insight into the work practices of the industry, companies and careers in respective professions;
develop a realistic expectation of the work environment and realize the importance of work values and culture;
gain social and work skills such as teamwork, resource management and problem-solving.
For employers to:
gain from the fresh perspective and assistance of students in specific projects; and
identify fresh graduates for company recruitment programmes.
