Ms Izumi Walker joined NUS in September 2000, and she is currently the Convenor for the Japanese language program. She is also a member of Research Committee for the Centre, and the President for the Japanese Language Teachers' Association in Singapore. Ms Walker was initially trained in US, received a MSc degree in Applied Linguistics from Edinburgh University, UK and worked as a Lecturer at universities in the USA, UK, and Japan prior to moving to Singapore. She has taught students of various levels from elementary course to MBA program. Her current research interests are Pedagogy for "Taigu Communication" and "Performative Exercises", Pedagogical Grammar and Teacher Education.
