Social
Programme
The ClaSIC 2008 Organising Committee has planned an attractive and varied social programme for the conference participants. Social activities include the official conference dinner on 5 December and a tour to the Singapore Botanic Gardens and National Museum of Singapore on 7 December.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens, spreading over 60 hectares and being close to the city centre, showcase a magnificent collections of plants. Some highli ghts include the ginger garden, the succulent gardens, the cactus garden , the Bonsai display, a section of rainforest, and, of course, the National Orchid Garden, one of the world's largest orchid collections.
The National Museum of Singapore was reopened in December 2006 after a period of three and a half years of redevelopment. Its new look consists of Neo-Palladian and Renaissance style with a dome at the front of the building. It is designed to be the people's museum, more than just a space for exhibition and artifacts. So do experience it yourself. The museum is located in the city centre. Click here for the location map.
