2nd best paper award at SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles
L - R: Tim Marsh, First Author: Eng Tat Khoo and Presenter: Tim Merritt The paper of a final group project from CNM’s graduate module, NM5211 Serious Games & Learning Media, received the 2nd Best Paper Award at the International peer-reviewed ACM SIGGRAPH Video Games Conference, which took place in Los Angeles, U.S. in August, 2008. Assistant Professor Timothy Marsh, from CNM, taught the module for the first time in semester two, academic year 2007-2008. The students' project, which was submitted to the conference as a full-paper, described their final assignment for the Serious Games module—a prototype for learning about music theory, pitch, time signature and dynamics in music, through play.
