The Credibility of Blogs as News Resource in China

Just like many other newly-invented and internet-based media of communication, blogs have inspired many proponents' imagination about their potential challenges to prevailing journalistic norms and practices. Some people say that the phenomenon of blogging, especially blogs focused on politics and public affairs, has changed the way information becomes front page news. But any blog as a news resource may be unable to circumvent a significant issue, the credibility of the news content. I plan to research into the perceived credibility of political blogs in China from a consumer's perspective and to explore the potential of blogs as alternative news resource.
