I graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Cultural Studies with first class honors. While there, I had the chance to intern with, and publish a policy paper for the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria, a leading youth advocacy group, which evaluated the benefits and challenges involved in the use of information technologies by disadvantaged young people. My research interests include the study of online identities, online communities and the social practices and impacts of video gaming.

My study uses narrative methods to explore motivations for writing journal styled blogs. Studies in this field have suggested that motivations for blogging are varied, and range from those of creative expression, to documentation, and communication. Building on this knowledge, my study explores the unwritten desires and implicit meanings that underscore these motivations.
