![]() Print this article | Minu THOMAS I graduated from the University of Madras, Chennai, India with a Master's degree in English Literature and two Bachelor's degrees in English Literature and Education. I taught English at the primary level in Chennai for a period of three years. My next teaching assignment was at The Citadel, a school in my hometown in the south-western state of Kerala. I went back to Chennai for a year as an Administrator in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) project, IDP Education Australia. Arriving in Singapore in early 2005, I joined the CNM Programme as a tutorial assistant in August and then began my Masters here in 2006.

Proposed Thesis Title: ICTs and Foreign Women Working as Domestic Help in Singapore
Proposed Abstract: In my thesis I will attempt to study the communication needs and the use of ICTs by foreign women working as domestic help in Singapore. I will also look at the perceived benefits of ICTs for individual maids and the foreign maid community as a whole.
