Graduation Requirements

ARTS STUDENTS MATRICULATED
IN ACADEMIC YEARS:
2002-2003, 2003-2004, and 2004-2005
Important Notice:
CNM Major students cannot use the attached list of IT/CS modules to fulfill their
- General Education Modules (GEM)
- Cross-Faculty Modules (CFM)
- Breadth (Elective outside student's Faculty-University Level Requirement)
- Unrestricted Elective Modules outside student's major (UE)
Students are strongly urged to take IT1001 and IT1002 during their first year of study to access higher level SoC elective modules in subsequent years. However, IT1001 and IT1002 cannot be counted towards the CNM graduation requirements, but they can be used to fulfill your breadth requirement,
unrestricted elective module, or for a minor in SoC. Please be aware that IT1001 precludes GEK1511.
Graduation Requirements for CNM Concentrations
| Shared Major (B.A.) - 32MC Option [2002-2004] |
Accumulate a minimum of 32MC, which include the following:
(1) Read and pass IF1101E or NM1101E
(2) Read and pass IF2101 or NM2101
(3) Read and pass a minimum of 24MC from level-2000 or higher IF- or
NM-prefixed modules or NM approved modules, of which,
a. at least 12MC pure 'IF' or 'NM' prefixed modules (excluding IF1101E
or NM1101E, IF2101 or NM2101, IF2206, crosslisted modules and
recognised modules from other departments).
b. a minimum of 12MC must be from level-3000, of which 4MC may be
replaced with a level-4000 module. [Must have at least 20MC of
level-3000 modules from both majors.]
c. Student may read a maximum of 8MC with 'IT' or 'CS' prefix from
a list of approved School of Computing modules.
d. Student may read a maximum of 8MC of crosslisted modules or
recognised modules from other departments.

Accumulate a minimum of 36 MC, which include the following:
(1) Read and pass IF1101E or NM1101E
(2) Read and pass IF2101 or NM2101
(3) Read and pass at least 12MC pure 'IF' or 'NM' prefixed modules (excluding
IF1101E or NM1101E, IF2101 or NM2101, IF2206, crosslisted modules and
recognised modules from other departments).
(4) Read and pass a minimum of 12MC from level-3000 modules, of which
