Implementation of 5MC Level-4000 modules >>
Please note that you should refrain from reading level-4000 or level-5000 modules in Semester 2, 2008-09. This is because the affected modules offered in Semester 2, 2008-09 would only be worth 4MC. You would then have to read additional modules to accumulate the required MC for your honours degree requirement.

Career Prospects
Graduates of the Department have little difficulty in securing jobs in either the public or the private sector. The discipline of Economics is the key to understanding the role and the making of incentives in the behaviour of man in society. Rigour of analysis, empirical validation of economic hypotheses and contribution to business and public policy have been the main pillars on which the discipline’s reputation has been built. The learning of economics thus equips the student with useful transferable skills such as problem solving, effective writing, basic empirical skills and knowledge of the key economic institutions.
