Effective
communication is central to almost every modern profession.
Sensitivity to the nuances of language and awareness of
its potential have become indispensable to the successful
urban professional. Consider careers in any of these -
education, film and television, performing arts, publishing,
journalism, PR, advertising, commerce, politics, management,
marketing and countless others - and you will realise
the career value of a strong grounding in language and
communication.
Our Language programme opens you up to the analysis of
language and its use, training you in the critical investigation
of language-related issues.
Our Literature programme offers a remarkable breadth of
courses while retaining the academic rigour of the traditional
English literature degree.
Theatre Studies graduates go through a range of courses
balanced in dramatic theory and practical skills, both
Eastern and Western.
