The Department of Geography organised
a tea for its single and double majors Geography students
on 3 March 2004. This is the second year the Geography Department
has organised this tea. A total of 50 students attended the
tea this year. The Department’s graduate and honours students
were also invited to this tea to mingle with the undergraduates.
The objectives of the tea include soliciting feedback from
students on their academic welfare, establishing social rapport
between staff and students, and publicising the activities
of the NUS Geographical Society.
During the tea, small group discussions between lecturers
and students were held. Feedback from the students were collated
and discussed at Department meetings. Such feedback includes
students’ concerns about module available, workload, and their
interest in fieldtrips and fieldwork among other matters.
While the Department will continue to hold this tea annually
for Geography majors, students are always welcome to email
the Department with their feedback and concerned at any time.
