TEA FOR STUDENTS

The Department of Geography organised a tea for its single and double majors Geography students on 3 March 2004. This is the second year the Geography Department has organised this tea. A total of 50 students attended the tea this year. The Department’s graduate and honours students were also invited to this tea to mingle with the undergraduates. The objectives of the tea include soliciting feedback from students on their academic welfare, establishing social rapport between staff and students, and publicising the activities of the NUS Geographical Society.

During the tea, small group discussions between lecturers and students were held. Feedback from the students were collated and discussed at Department meetings. Such feedback includes students’ concerns about module available, workload, and their interest in fieldtrips and fieldwork among other matters.

While the Department will continue to hold this tea annually for Geography majors, students are always welcome to email the Department with their feedback and concerned at any time. Emails may be directed to
