I
received my undergraduate education at the University
of Singapore, and my MA & PhD were conferred
by the University of Washington in Seattle. I am
interested in the diplomatic history of the US and
the impact of domestic politics and processes on
American foreign relations. Another area of research
interest is the geopolitical challenges of the ASEAN
nations. I've taught courses in twentieth century
American history as well as the international relations
of Southeast Asia. I have experience in teaching
non-history students for whom History is not a favourite
subject, and I consider the conversion of such students
both a challenge and a pleasure. I love political
cartoons, the screwball movies of the 1930s, Alfred
Hitchcock films and eating chocolates.
