I
have been teaching in the Department of History
for many years while simultaneously serving the
faculty and the university in other capacities.
This means that I'm seldom seen in the corridors
of the Department of History. However, my heart
and mind continue to be fascinated by history, especially
the history of Southeast Asia. I also continue to
be interested in disciplines that give substance
to the many dimensions that characterise a complex
region such as Southeast Asia. You see, I started
as a student of multi- and inter-disciplinary studies
on Southeast Asia before focusing on its history.
Currently, my interests have again extended to cross-disciplinary
topics.
