Fonts
- The standard font of newKOLAM
for texts without diacritical marks is "Times
New Roman".
- Texts that contain letters with diacritial marks are entirely set in Unicode encoding.
- We recommend to download and install the "Times Ind Uni"
package ("tim-iu.zip") from the FTP-site of John Smith's homepage. Any other Unicode-font containing the Indian diacritic marks can be used instead
(e.g."URW Palladio UNI" which is no more available on the internet and
will soon be replaced by "URW Palladio HOT". - Information on this and
other fonts by Ulrich Stiehl can be got in the "Sanskritweb" webpage.)
- Tamil text will soon be set in
Unicode. Until then, we go on using TAM encoding.
- We use TAM-Maduram of "Kamban" software. The font is
available on the Kamban "Downloads" page. Please, make sure to download the "TAM" [and not the "TAB"] font. - Any other
TAM encoded font can be used instead.
