Organized by FASS Migration Cluster, in conjunction with the Department of Social Work and the South Asian Studies Programme.
Synopsis
As the Indian Diaspora continues to grow in number and global significance, a large body of research has been generated on the subject.
Facets of the Indian Diaspora: A Panel Discussion and Book Launch is part of a larger effort to bring together current existing research on the Diaspora in an interdisciplinary dialogue on the broader issues facing its members, as well as the overseas Indian community’s relations with the homeland and their chosen place of residence.
The panel speakers were:
• A/P Chitra Sankaran, Department of English Language and Literature, FASS, NUS;
• Professor Anjali Roy, Asia Research Institute, NUS; and
• Dr T T Sreekumar, Communications and New Media Programme, FASS, NUS.
