Southeast Asia in Context (June 22 - July 24, 2009)
This unique programme will bring together students from NUS, Yale University, University of Copenhagen, and other universities in two special five-week programme that will blend classroom lectures with field study excursions to sites in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
The 2009 NUS-IARU Summer School offers a two-tier summer school programme at the introductory and advanced levels.

- Transcript of NUS academic records. Apply for the NUS Transcript here.
- Letter of recommendation from one of your NUS lecturer or tutor.
- Consent form to be signed by all students regardless of age.

Eligibility
Introductory Level
All NUS undergraduate full-time students are eligible to apply for the introductory level.
| Advanced Level |

NUS students should have a minimum Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of 3.00 on the 5-point scale, and should not have any grade below ‘C’ (grade point of 2.00) in any module. |
• |
An interest in the study of Southeast Asian is essential. Students should be able to demonstrate this is their application. |
• |
Applicants for the Advanced Level must meet at least one of the following pre-requisites: |

Read and passed SE1101E/GEK1008/SSA1202 and at least one Bahasa Indonesia language module; OR |
|
2. |
Read and passed any SE or SE-recognised level-2000 and above module; OR |

3. |
Have previously participated in the NUS-IARU Southeast Asia in Context Summer School. |

There are two phases to the IARU GSP application process. You must first be nominated by your university to participate. To apply for nomination, you must submit a GSP Application Form to the IARU GSP Coordinator at your home university. If you are nominated, your application will be forwarded to the host University of your selected course. The host university will make the final decision regarding your admission into the GSP.
Download the GSP Application Form and forward it electronically to the Global Summer Program Coordinator at your home university (not to the host university directly). Completed application forms must be received by your home institution by Friday, 6 March, 2009.
