SINGLE
MAJOR (B.A.)
Accumulate at least 60 MCs of EU, EU recognised and French or German language modules, which include the following:
- Read and pass the following modules:
EU1101E Making of Contemporary Europe
- Read and pass an additional 56 MCs of EU, EU recognised modules including a minimum of 16 MCs of language modules (up to a maximum of 28 MCs language modules) in either French or German. Of these, at least 20 MCs must be at level-3000.
For single major students, additional language modules read (over and above the maximum number stated above) cannot be used to fulfil EU major requirements.
Students who have prior knowledge of French or German will be allowed to enrol for higher level language modules. Placement tests will determine the appropriate starting level for such students. Exemptions of 4 or 8 MCs will be awarded to students who begin the language module at LAF4202/LAG4202 or LAF4203/LAG4203 respectively.
The maximum language exemptions granted will be subjected to the maximum exemptions allowed by the FASS. Exemptions will only be granted when the student files for graduation as an EU major.
