An exposure module offers an introductory yet comprehensive overview of your desired major. Reading it early on in your academic journey is crucial.
If you already have an idea of the subject(s) you would like to major in, you may indicate your preference through this exercise so that we can pre-allocate the respective exposure modules for you to read in your first or second semester of study.
This is important as passing the respective exposure module is a prerequisite for you to declare the subject as your major. The major declaration exercise will take place from the end of your first semester onwards.
Incoming FASS students will be invited by email to take part in the Pre-Allocation of Exposure Modules exercise in the period of May to June. You may indicate up to four choices on the online form. We will, where possible, pre-allocate your first two choices to you.
If the exposure module of any of your top two choices is over-subscribed, we will pre-allocate the affected exposure module to you in your second semester of study. We will still take steps to pre-allocate two exposure modules to you in your first semester of study (based on your third and fourth choices, where applicable). These may be used to fulfill Faculty Core requirements should you wish to. If you do not wish to read any of the modules pre-allocated to you, you may drop them on your own using the Module Registration System in July.
Do note that only the lecture groups will be pre-allocated to you. You will still need to ballot for your tutorial groups through the Module Registration System. You will also still need to register for the remaining modules you wish to read in your first semester using the Module Registration System. The recommended workload is at least 20 MCs of modules in a semester.
