Coursework Programmes
Overview
Coursework programmes involve attendance at formal classes, seminars, laboratories and written examinations. Some programmes also require the candidate to undertake a project or practicum.
There are currently nine coursework programmes comprising eight Masters degree programmes and one Graduate Diploma programme. The degrees are obtained after a prescribed course of study.
The programes are:
Master of Psychology (Clinical)
A new coursework Master of Psychology (Clinical) programme will be taking in its first batch of students from Semester I 2008-09 (August 2008). This two-year full-time coursework Masters degree is an entry level training programme for graduates who are seeking training in the professional practice of Clinical Psychology. This programme is based on the scientist-practitioner model and includes the building of both theoretical knowledge and core competencies for clinical practice. It will be taught through a combination of coursework, research and practical placement experience. More information on the programme can be found here.
Master of Science (Speech & Language Pathology)
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (SoM) has started a new coursework Master of Science (Speech & Language Pathology) programme from Semester II 2006-07 (January 2007). This is the first degree to be offered jointly by FASS and SoM, and represents a significant milestone for allied health training at NUS. More information on the programme can be found here.
