Admission Requirements
Candidates seeking admission to the programme leading to the Master of Social Sciences (Psychology) degree by research must have obtained either:
Overseas candidates must have an acceptable score in English proficiency [TOEFL score of at least 580 for the paper-based test, 85 for the internet-based test (with a minimum score of 22 for the writing section) or 237 for the computer-based test; and 6 for IELTS or equivalent].
We encourage applicants to contact faculty members within our department (http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/psy/people/people.html) prior to submitting their application and to inquire about a potential supervision. This will allow students to find out whether their research interests can be accommodated by one of our staff members. If at the time of application evaluation, no staff member has expressed interest in supervising the student, the student will not be admitted to our program.
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences awards research scholarships for graduate students on a competitive basis. If you would like to be considered for such a scholarship you need to indicate this on your application form and submit a letter of application through your prospective supervisor to the Psychology Head of Department.
