The Department of Malay Studies and Religion Research Cluster are organising a seminar on Islam and the Arts on 11 October. The aim of the seminar is to give people an appreciation of the function of Islam in artistic expression. The seminar will cover various aspects of the visual and performing arts, such as calligraphy, photography, architecture, and zafin in the Malay World of Southeast Asia.Paper presenters come from Singapore and Malaysia and include academics who specialise in the arts and are artists themselves.
