Shared Major (B.A.)
To graduate, students must have:
- Read and passed SE1101E;
- Read and passed a minimum of 3 (12MC) Southest ASian language modules*;
- Read and passed a minimum of 5 (20 MC) modules in Southeast Asian Studies, inclusive of SE1101E. Of these, at least 4 (16 MC) must be SE-coded and at least 2 (8 MC) must be level-3000 modules (Note: This is subject to a minimum total of 5 level-3000 modules for the first and second shared major subjects added together).
Single Major (B.A.)
To graduate, students must have:
- Read and passed SE1101E;
- Read and passed a minimum of 4 (16 MC) Southeast Asian language modules*;
- Read and passed a minimum of 10 (40 MC) modules in Southeast Asian Studies, inclusive of SE1101E. Of these, at least 8 (32 MC) must be SE-coded and at least 5 (20 MC) must be level-3000 modules.
Single Major B.A.(Hons)
To graduate, students must have:
- Satisfied all requirements for the Single Major B.A. Degree (see above);
- Read and passed SE4101;
- Read and passed a minimum of 8 (32 MC) level-4000 and above modules in Southeast Asian Studies, inclusive of SE4101. Of these, at least 5 (20 MC) must be SE-coded modules. No more than 2 (8 MC) level-5000/6000 modules in Southeast Asian Studies may be taken.
- Writing an Honours Thesis (SE4401 - 12MCs) is optional. To qualify to write an Honours Thesis, students must have:
a) Completed at least 100MCs including 56MCs of SE major requirements AND
b) Obtained one of the following minimum standards at the point of registration: a minimum CAP of 4.0 OR a minimum SJAP of 4.0 and CAP of 3.5.
* All the language requirements will normally be in only ONE language track, i.e. Bahasa Indonesia or Thai or Vietnamese. The language modules will be offered by the Centre for Language Studies. Under certain circumstances, students may be allowed to transfer to another SE language track.
