Call for Papers

The Department of Sociology, National University of Singapore in partnership with Latrobe University’s Thesis XI group and International Social Theory Consortium, is proud to host the conference of the 6th International Social Theory Consortium from June 9 – 11, 2005. The main objective of this annual conference is to provide a forum for interdisciplinary dialogue for social scientists and anyone else who is interested in social theory or to explore the interaction of theory with social milieu that has been a site of rapid economic development fuelled by a mixture of capital and political craftsmanship. Papers are invited from professional social scientists, historians, cultural critics – academics as well as graduate students, in fact, anyone with a predilection for theory. This conference also welcomes social activists who represent an intersection between critical theory and applied grounded theory in dealing with problems on the ground.
