Kim Sung Kyung
I obtained my M.A. Sociology of Culture and Ph.D. at the University of Essex, Department of Sociology. My research interests are Asian film studies; cultural geography; Asian popular culture; political economy of cultural industry in Asia; mobility in Asia; North Korean defectors and etc. Recent publications are in the field of Asian mobility, North Korean defectors, migration studies, and cultural industry. In the future, as a bigger project, I hope to apply a cultural studies perspective to migration studies in order to theorize the cultural aspects of human mobility.
