Full-time Postdoctoral Fellow (Social Service Research Centre)

Social Service Research Centre (SSR) at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore (NUS), would like to invite suitable candidates to apply for the full‐time position of Postdoctoral Fellow.

SSR was established as a Faculty-level research centre in April 2015 in NUS. As the only entity dedicated to research on social interventions in Singapore, SSR is the focal point of rigorous applied research, working in tandem with social service leaders in government, civil society, and private philanthropic institutions to critic, test-bed and facilitate large-scale, community-based service innovations through a variety of methods including programme evaluation and social analytics.

Job Description
Candidates are invited for a one-year Postdoctoral Fellowship. The Fellow will support a few program evaluation and training programs in the Centre.

Job requirements
The candidate should possess the following:
• A Ph.D. from a recognized university in a Social Science, Social Policy, Program Evaluation or related discipline;
• An aptitude for and relevant experience in collaborative as well as independent applied social science research;
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
• Familiarity with Singapore’s social service sector an advantage.

Part-Time Admin Executive (Social Service Research Centre)

Job Description
The part-time Admin Executive will assist the Research Fellows in managing the administrative aspects of their respective projects. He/she will be involved in supportive roles related to administration, manpower and finance matters.

Job requirements
The candidate should possess the following:
• A recognized degree in any discipline;
• Preferably 1 year of experience in administration or managerial work;
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word;
• Excellent organisational and coordination skills
• Good communication skills
• Self-motivated and driven
• Good team player with demonstrated ability to work independently
• Meticulous, detail-oriented, mature and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Full Time Research Associate / Research Fellow (EPYC Study)

The Research Associate / Fellow will join a multi-Agency national longitudinal research project. The project focuses on the rehabilitation and reintegration of youth offenders in Singapore. The target sample is youth offenders and youth at risk. The study will examine the interaction between developmental and environmental factors with regard to offending, and investigates the influence of these factors on successful rehabilitation and reintegration of youth into society.

Job Description
The Research Associate/ Fellow will perform a crucial role in managing the data-related tasks in the study.

The Research Associate / Fellow will:
• Conduct data analysis and communicate findings to stakeholders
• Prepare research reports and publications
• Manage the operations of the EPYC data
• Participate in research related activities (seminars, workshops, etc.)
• Provide assistance to coordination duties
• Undertake administrative tasks related to the research project

Job requirements
The candidate should possess the following:
• A Master’s degree in relevant areas, degree by research or at least two years’ experience in large scale research projects
• Proficient in data-related tasks
• Excellent scientific writing skills
• Excellent in quantitative research methods (such as SEM) and proficient in the use of SPSS or other software such as R, Mplus, Stata.
• Excellent work planning and time management skills
• Able to multi-task and work under pressure in a changing environment
• Good communication skills (e.g. inter-personal skills, ability to present findings to different stakeholders)
• Strong interest in research in the forensic and rehabilitation field
• Self-motivated: Able to work well both independently and as a member of a team
• Passion for high-impact research
