Centre Manager

Social Service Research (SSR) Centre is a research centre in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore. It was set up with the aim of bringing together resources and ideas to promote and test social innovations and help evolve a new social service infrastructure for Singapore’s next phase of social development.

SSR’s Centre Manager is primarily responsible for the Centre's day-to-day administration & operations, supporting the Centre's full spectrum of research initiatives and engagement programmes.

Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Centre’s Director, the candidate would be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Oversee and manage operations of the Centre, including project accounts, agreements, office equipment and supplies, and website.
  2. Maintain the Centre’s overall budget, and proper financial and administrative records of Centre activities, conferences, projects and initiatives, including grant administration, procurement, project claims, financial records, and annual reports
  3. Manage the administrative process of all Centre appointments. This includes handling appointment advertisements, facilitating candidate selection and facilitating the initial settling-in of new appointees.
  4. Provide administrative support to organise conferences, workshops, seminars, training programs, and other activities of the Centre.
  5. Supervise 1 management administrative officer.
  6. Other related administrative duties assigned by the Director.

  1. A recognized university degree in any discipline. Preference will be given to graduates from the social sciences or business and management.
  2. Preferably at least 3 years of relevant working experience. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in managing research centres or activities in higher institutions.
  3. Ability in finance and accounting.
  4. Excellent organizational skills, meticulous, independent, resourceful, and responsible.
  5. Able to multi-task, positive work attitude, and good interpersonal skills.
  6. Good writing and communication skills, and good command of English.
