FASS Food and Flick 2012

It's always fun to gather our alumni and students for an informal and friendly evening of food and movie. 'FASS Food and Flick 2012' (11 April 2012) saw over 160 students and alum descending upon the Shaw Foundation Alumni House to enjoy an evening with new and old friends. After a sumptuous dinner of Asian and international delights, everybody enjoyed the alien-inspired movie 'Paul'. Look out for announcements on the next 'FASS Food and Flick' and come join us!

Examination Preparation Talks

'FASS Forward to the Exams' preparatory talks are conducted once a semester as a way for Faculty members to share study tips, writing skills and examination strategies with students. So far, two sessions have been organised with great success (in October 2011 and March 2012). Faculty members invited to speak are university recognised excellent educators who share stress-busting tips, smart study techniques and other valuable information.

Students interested in finding out more about exam strategies can view the talks at:

Speed Mentoring and Networking

FASS also organises Speed Mentoring and Networking events where students are invited to meet with alumni from different career fields over an evening of dinner and drinks. The last event in March 2012 drew 18 alumni from 12 different career fields (including arts and culture, consultancy, education, finance, hospitality, journalism, public relations, social work etc.). A total of over 80 students took the opportunity to interact with as many of the alumni as possible.
