The information in this calendar is correct at date of publication (31 Oct 2011). Please check the FASS Homepage> Undergraduates> To Check> Calendars> Important Events for the latest updates. Changes (if any) will be marked out in red.
Note:
1. You need to use the online major declaration system to declare/ change major(s) and FASS minors. You should do so during the Module Preference Exercise. You are also strongly encouraged to participate in this Module Preference Exercise to indicate your preferred FASS essential and elective major module(s) for Semester 2, AY2011-12. Please note that this exercise will NOT replace the CORS Bidding Exercise.
2. Only FASS students who have read cross-listed modules offered by FASS are eligible:
- (b) for other cases, students must have accumulated at least 80 MCs.

(a) those who have read a module cross-listed with an exposure module which you now wish to major in (there is no need to accumulate a minimum number of MC to be eligible); or
A sum of 30 bid points will be deducted from your respective bidding account upon approval. The form is available at the FASS Homepage> To Do> Forms and Online System..
3. You are required to come personally to the Dean’s Office if you intend to file for graduation (FFG) or withdraw your FFG application filed earlier for Semester 1, 2011-12.
If you decide to continue with Honours, and
- (b) if you have not FFGed, you may proceed with module classification under the Honours track.

(a) if you have FFGed earlier, you MUST submit the FFG withdrawal request to the Dean's Office. After the withdrawal is updated, you will need to proceed with module classification under the Honours track, via GAPS.
If you are unsure whether to pursue an Honours degree, you may consult the academic advisor of your major.
Once you are conferred the B.A degree, you cannot return to do your Honours. The B.A degree once conferred, cannot be rescinded. That means, you cannot return to pursue your Honours degree. If you are unsure whether to pursue an Honours degree, you may consult the academic advisor of your major.
4. The Graduation and Academic Planning System (GAPS) allows students to track their graduation requirements. This exercise will only be meaningful if you have declared your major. GAPS is open during this period to help you plan your modules for the next semester. There will not be classification or declaration activities via GAPS during this period.
5. The Graduation and Academic Planning System (GAPS) allows you to :
- (b) declare/change your major(s)/FASS minor(s) (if this is not your 6th semester of study);
- (c) check the list of modules read;
- (d) FFG (if you intend to graduate at the end of Semester 2, 2011-12). You have to classify all modules before proceeding to FFG.

(a) classify your modules;
Note: Filing for graduation only indicates that you intend to graduate in Semester 2, AY2011-12. You must check that you meet graduation requirements before you FFG. If you are unsure whether to FFG or to continue with Honours, but have checked that you meet B.A. graduation requirements, you should either
- (b) proceed to FFG during the period (Thu, 12 Jan – Mon, 16 Jan) so that we can verify that you have met the graduation requirements. If after the release of exam results, you decide to continue with Honours, see Note 8 below.

(a) consult the academic advisor of your major(s) OR
6. Students who dropped modules with an “F” grade will receive full refund of bid points. The grade “F” will be factored into CAP. In such cases, the S/U option cannot be exercised.
7. You are required to verify that you have registered for the correct modules. This is because you may be refused entry into the examination hall if you are not listed as registered for a particular module.
8. You are required to come personally to the Dean’s Office, if you intend to file for graduation (FFG) or withdraw your FFG application filed earlier for Semester 2, 2011-12.
IMPORTANT: We regret that if you missed the stipulated FFG period, you will be conferred the degree later. You will miss Commencement 2012 and will attend Commencement 2013 instead.
Special Note (a):
For students who did not FFG before the exam, please complete classification of all modules via GAPS before proceeding to the Dean's Office to FFG. (see also Note 5 above).
Students who have filed for graduation but decide to withdraw must submit the withdrawal request in person at the Dean’s Office within 3 working days of the release of examination results.
If you decide to continue with Honours, and
