Student Exchange Programme: What Must I Do?

Upon Application

Things to look for

Students should look through the list of Universities available and the number of places offered for the semester. Pay attention to the remarks column as some Partner Universities may have indicated special preferences.

A number of the Universities' semesters straddle two of our semesters (eg. the term is from October - February). You may wish to take note of this when you are choosing your host University.

Some departments require students to read essential module(s). The module(s) may only be offered in a specific semester, or students may be required to read them in a specific year of study (eg. Students are to read the module in ARS 3 and the module is only offered in Semester 1). Please take this into consideration when you are deciding when to embark on SEP.

Applying : Choosing the Universities

  • Pick 5 Universities that you are interested in (this can be a mixture of University-wide, Faculty-wide or Departmental-wide partners).

  • Once you have your choices confirmed, do consult each University's homepage for more information, eg. their modules offered, medium of language, academic workload, academic calendar, accommodation and expenses, etc.

  • When you are done with your research, rank the Universities in order of your preference.

Applying: Financial

  • Students who are awarded a scholarship/award, should check that the information regarding the scholarship/award is reflected correctly. Any discrepancy should be reported to the SEP Administrator.

Please state the scholarship/award that you are holding, eg. MOE Teaching award, SPH Scholarship, SAF Award, Mendaki Bursary

Note: The MOE Tuition Grant, NUS Study Loan & Overseas SEP Loan are not applicable here.

  • Students must state the amount granted (which should include air fare, accommodation, NUS tuition fee, and all other expenses covered by the award.

Applying: Final touches
