FASS Student Life

The Faculty office of Student Life is dedicated to promoting experiential learning, career preparedness and overall student wellness, and offers support services aimed at enabling and empowering students who are disabled and/or temporarily disadvantaged. It also handles referrals to other University services to deliver more assistance where needed.

NUS Student Support Services (S3)­

S3 is a unit of the Office of Student Affairs created to support students’ well-being and offer help –including emotional support and self-care management consulting–through their network of Peer Student Supporters(PSPs) and other services at PitStop@YIH. PSPs are available at PitStop@YIH (open Mondays through Fridays from 12 to 6 pm) or otherwise reachable via e-mail.

GENERAL & MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

 

NUS University Health Centre
(Counselling & Lifeline hotline)

The University Health Centre provides both medical care as well as mental health management services, including Counselling Services and the 24-hour hotline for life-threatening psychological emergencies Lifeline NUS. Examples of psychological emergencies include those when a student is:

  • Having suicidal intentions
  • Experiencing severe panic or anxiety attacks
  • Dealing with news of death or severe injury to family or peers
  • Traumatised or disoriented from recent physical violence

SEXUAL MISCONDUCT

 

NUS Victim Care Unit (VCU)

If you believe you have witnessed or personally been on the receiving end of sexual misconduct, contact the NUS Victim Care Unit (VCU). The VCU is a dedicated unit providing a central point of contact for all NUS students who are being or have been affected by sexual misconduct. They offer a private and safe place for victims to seek support and to be heard independent of their faculty, department, or hostel. The team at VCU comprises trained professionals who have experience working with victims of sexual misconduct.

NUS is committed to creating a safe, inclusive and respectful community. Sexual misconduct undermines this commitment and affects the ability of students to focus on their educational goals. NUS will not tolerate nor condone any form of sexual misconduct.

IT Care

IT Care is a support team dedicated to providing quality IT services to the NUS community. It offers technical assistance on services such as: password reset and account unlocking; configuration to wireless and wired network and email access; access and use of e-services such as Staff Portal and EduRec; enquiries to IT-related matters; and, resolution to desktop and application issues such as viruses and operating system/application crashes.
